Despairing Angels

Despairing Angels

Carnalized in our time

Wingless

floating floating

Serenading cities aflame

far below

Lyrics of death descending

Shrill with despair

Not not

the sweet Tiepolo angels

Now now

a lost imagining:

the sweetest among angels

are being tutored to die

While wingless beings

graceless and grotesque float

above our menaced planet

Leaders of all nations and their citizens should read Richard Falk’s touching insight.
The sweetest of angels will not die in vain for the wingless, graceless and groteque
darken their own souls as they menace the planet.

    Dark, darker, darkest:
Your posts are invitations into the most dense areas of the world’s shadow. What does it mean to see in such dimness? Can one smile in the middle of such a night?

I think it was Theodore Roethke who wrote the line “In the dark the eye begins to see.” Perhaps, I am abusing the blogosphere by seeming to dwell only in the shadowlands..

Beautifully powerful but makes me sad

Salpy: I really do hate the thought of making you sad! I will try to do
      more to bring you joy!
