For the United States to pay the bill for replenishing missiles in the Israel’s Iron Dome defense system used during the Gaza attack in May is a travesty of law and justice. And for such an initiative to gain support for such a measure by a vote of 420-9 in an otherwise hopelessly divided U.S. House of Representatives should be an embarrassment rather than the occasion for restoring this questionable Special Relationship no matter how adverse its unconditional maintenance is for the wellbeing of the people of the Middle East and the strategic rationality of American foreign policy.
Iron Dome Mystifications
There has been much false reasoning surrounding this latest promiscuous affirmation of Israeli militarism. The Iron Dome is presented to the world as a purely defensive weapon whose only role is to save the lives of innocent civilians. If that is so, why not deploy an Iron Dome system in Gaza, as Alison Weir has observed, where it is really needed by an utterly defenceless blockaded civilian population that has endured massive civilian casualties from repeated Israeli missile attacks for many years. Anyone aware of the devastation and civilian casualties endured by the Gazan population of Gaza in May would understand that Israel would have thought twice before launching such an aggressive military operation if its population and cities would have been as exposed to retaliatory strikes as are the people of Gaza. One need not be a student of military strategy to know that offense and defense are lethally interconnected under combat conditions.
Not only is the Iron Dome mispresented, but the underlying military attack, with the puzzling IDF code name “Guardian of the Walls,” was falsely described as a ‘defensive’ response to the ‘terrorism’ of Hamas and affiliated armed groups. Ignored by such media reporting is the Israeli inflammatory background and context. Rockets from Gaza were preceded by a series of Israeli provocations in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, including safeguarding Jewish extremist marches through Palestinian neighborhoods with such chants as ‘death to the Arabs,’ settler violence against Palestinians, and several intrusions and interferences with Muslim worship within the Al Aqsa compound during a period of religious holidays.
Comparing Civilian Casualties
When the assessments of responsibility for loss of life and the true identity of perpetrators of terrorism are made, it is illuminating to compare the casualty statistics of these periodic Israeli military operations carried out against a totally vulnerable Gazan entrapped society. One of the prime guidelines of international humanitarian law is the requirement that any military use of force be proportionate in response; another prime norm is the prohibition directed at ‘collective punishment’ in Artlcle 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention: in Operation Cast Lead, 2008-09, 14 Israelis were killed, 1434 Palestinians; in Operation Pillar of Defense, 2012, 6 Israelis, 158 Palestinians; in Operation Protective Edge, 2014, 73 Israelis, 2100 Palestinians; in Guardian of the Walls, 2021, 12 Israelis, 256 Palestinians.
This comparison of lives lost is revealing, but even this is far from a complete portrayal of one-sidedness, as Gaza is routinely denied in the aftermath of the carnage, access to materials needed to repair the worst of the damage to people and property, quite arbitrarily for long periods, aggravating what passes for normalcy in the best of times in Gaza during intervals between massive attacks. There are frequent limited military strikes, border violence, and a host of intrusions by way of drone surveillance and sonic boom overflights.
Against such a tormented background, the US Government should at least refrain from subsidizing Israeli militarism even beyond the already disgraceful $3.8 billion per year. Besides, the moral and legal considerations, one wonders why Israel should be a recipient of such geopolitical charity when its economy is robust, having achieved one of the world’s highest per capita incomes, with cutting edge technologies, and a profitable, expanding market for its arms industry and counterterrorism training programs. Not only should the US be ashamed, but humiliated by erecting such a platform for national bipartisanship despite remaining hopelessly split on what should be apolitical imperatives: a humane border and immigration policy, adequate funding of infrastructure and social protection, keeping the electoral process open to all citizens and preserving political democracy in the face of insurrectionary violence, and devoting all available public funds to address the multiple menaces attributable to climate change.
What About Israeli Nuclear Weapons?
The strategic perspective is also relevant. Serious war dangers in the Middle East persist in large part because the West cannot deal evenhandedly with nuclear weapons. It long ago facilitated the secret acquisition, possession, and development of this weaponry by Israel and stands committed to war if necessary to thwart Iran alleged approach of the nuclear threshold. Because Washington does not dare to challenge Israel’s nuclear option, the US is forced against its interest to join Israel (and Saudi Arabia) in confronting Iran. It should be evident to any fair-minded observer that Iran has a persuasive security case for a nuclear deterrent given constant threats and violations of its sovereignty by Israeli and U.S. military provocations. It should be obvious that security, peace, and economic development would benefit all the peoples of the Middle East if a nuclear free zone were established in the region, monitored and verified internationally. At the same time, it would reduce to near zero the dangers of a regional war and the strategic inhibitions associated with keeping Israel as the only country permitted to have such weaponry with not even a pretense of accountability.
What About Israeli Apartheid?
What would be in the foreground of subsidizing a foreign military would be some reflections about its human rights record. In the case of Israel, the fact that during the past year both B’Tselem and Human Rights Watch, both respected human rights NGOs, concluded after exhaustive study that Israel was guilty of the crime of apartheid, a conclusion also affirmed in concrete detail by the fearless Israeli journalist, Gideon Levy. Apartheid is listed among the crimes against humanity in the Rome Statute, which is the treaty framework governing the operations of the International Criminal Court. Congress turns a blind eye toward the growing consensus that Israel is an apartheid state, a conclusion virtually acknowledged by its own adoption of a Basic Law in 2018 that proclaimed Israel as the state of the Jewish people with further implication of Jewish supremacy, not only in Israel but in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, that is, in the whole of historic Palestine. And through it all, the mainstream media takes bland note of this dubious reaffirmation of support for Israel with no attempt to address the dubious implications of such diplomatic lockstep.
What About the Palestinian Right of Resistance
In view of this, at the very least the discourse on Israel/Palestine should at least acknowledge a Palestinian right of resistance operative within the limits set by international law. It is time to abandon dismissing Palestinian resistance as ‘terrorism’ and Israeli oppressive dominance as inherently ‘defensive.’
When these considerations are taken into account, we should begin to appreciate how regressive a move it was to donate $1 billion for a new supply of Iron Dome missiles at this time. We should pause to thank the Squad for standing strong, and wonder why those who in Congress stand behind the struggles of people of color of America fail to exhibit even minimal signs of solidarity with the victims of the Palestinian ordeal.
Global Justice in the 21st Century

That $BILLION is on top of the $3.5 BILLION ANNUAL SOCIALIST SUBSIDY to US Weapons Industries, giving Israel the US Weapons for Free, to fight against home made rockets with no guidance system in the Israeli controlled Gaza Ghetto-Open Air Prison. Those Muslims in Gaza are enduring worse Living conditions than the Muslims the US says it cares so much about in the alleged Chinese Genocide of the Uyghurs.
The US cannot control China, but it certainly has leverage on Israel with it’s donations of Weapons and US tax breaks for Donations to Israeli causes.
The Senate will also approve this additional US Taxpayer donation to Israel.
Like this lopsided vote, a similar majority of Senators and Representatives are provided all expenses paid trips to Israel to hear only the Israeli side of the conflict and vote accordingly.
The Prisoners of Israel in Gaza cannot afford to bring American Politicians to Gaza to see what those US Weapons of Death and Destruction do to the People of Gaza.
Americans should question why there is such overwhelming Bi-Partisanship on any issue concerning Israel, but that Bi-Partisanship disappears on the many serious issues facing Americans.

The inauguration of the Bennett-Lapid government, despite its agreement to focus only on matters on which there is consensus, has in fact taken steps which have made matters worse.

Evictions and demolitions are continuing apace. Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount continues, rattling already stretched Muslim sensibilities. The olive harvest is being disrupted.
And, now, with few avenues of peaceful resistance remaining, civil society has been targeted. This is the precise opposite of the maintenance of the status quo.
I’ve been waiting to hear some kind of Statement from your Office, meaning YOU, on this new development in Democratic Israel for Jews, with a Military Dictatorship and Military Courts for Palestinian resistors to Israeli Occupied Palestine.
It appears to me your Policies and attitude toward Israel, ignores the British White Paper of 1939 which says in part,
It has been urged that the expression “a national home for the Jewish people” offered a prospect that Palestine might in due course become a Jewish State or Commonwealth. “Unauthorized statements have been made to the effect that the purpose in view is to create a wholly Jewish Palestine. Phrases have been used such as that `Palestine is to become as Jewish as England is English.’ His Majesty’s Government regard any such expectation as impracticable and have no such aim in view. Nor have they at any time contemplated …. the disappearance or the subordination of the Arabic population, language or culture in Palestine. They would draw attention to the fact that the terms of the (Balfour) Declaration referred to do not contemplate that Palestine as a whole should be converted into a Jewish National Home, but that such a Home should be founded IN PALESTINE.”
But this statement has not removed doubts, and His Majesty’s Government therefore now declare unequivocally that it is not part of their policy that Palestine should become a Jewish State. They would indeed regard it as contrary to their obligations to the Arabs under the Mandate, as well as to the assurances which have been given to the Arab people in the past, that the Arab population of Palestine should be made the subjects of a Jewish State against their will.
WWII transferred the 247 year British Imperial Mantle to the short lived American Empire. UN International Law still forbids an Occupying Power transferring it’s Citizens into Land captured in War as Zionist Israel attempts to eradicate Palestine of the 2017 Balfour Declaration from the Face of the Earth in a slow ethnic cleansing.

Richard, I made a typo re the Balfour Declaration. Obviously it was in 1917.
I grasp the spirit of these letters in the last chapter of the Major Jewish Prophet Isaiah,
“So says the Lord, “The heavens are My throne, and the earth is My footstool; which is the house that you will build for Me, and which is the place of My rest?”
If the foot that touches the footstool is Holy, it makes the footstool Holy.
That tells me this whole Earth is the Holy Land, not just that small sliver of blood soaked land this World has been brainwashed to view as the exclusive Holy Land.
Further on in that last chapter, Isaiah writes,

Kata, I’ve had a few spectacular dreams too, This is just 1 of them.
The year 1973 was significant to me for two reasons; the 1973 oil crisis and a particularly vivid and powerful dream I remembered on waking.
It had threads of reality weaved within it as there was a blast of a good time jam packed all inclusive party in the actual apartment I was living in at the time.
At the edge of a deep cliff overlooking the Turcot train-yards of Montreal, I had an unobstructed view of the mighty St. Lawrence River, to the farthest extension of the horizon south to the US of A.
Suddenly, the the old, 2 story building collapsed into a pile of rubble as the earth shook violently. Climbing out and shaking the dust off, toward the northern view, I could see the real park across St. Jacques Street and the high rise buildings in the distance on the higher cliffs of Notre Dame de Grace (NDG) swaying back and forth.
A Rolls Royce was parked in the street in front of the rubble that used to be my apartment. Getting in and turning on the radio, the only thing coming over all radio bands was, “You have to go to him. He wants you.”
Thinking that was the person I thought of as my best friend on earth at the time, I drove over to a fabulous dream apartment, not his real life one, having a commanding view of the entire City of Montreal.
“Frank! What’s Happening,” I asked, arriving at this amazing dream apartment. “It looks like the end of the world to me,” he said. Asking “what do you think we should do?” he said, “If it is the end of the world there isn’t anything we can do about it, so let’s relax and enjoy. If it isn’t the end of the world, lets relax and enjoy anyway.”
He put on a long playing vinyl album on a sound system looking like the kind today’s professionals use. The needle got stuck in the groove, and over and over again it played, “You can’t stay here. You have to go to him. He wants you.”
Stunned on hearing that and backing away from the grand sunken living room, I backed into a tree standing in a corner of the room. The branches of the tree embraced me saying, “You can’t stay here. You have to go to him. He wants you.”
Not knowing who or where HE was, I was running on St.Catherine Street as it was in those days. People were running in a panic and I was running in a panic like everyone else.
Bumping into somebody, I fell down and got up. Dodging things falling from the sky, I would stumble and fall. Getting up, I ran and climbed over collapsed rubble, falling and getting up again.
The obstacles seemed endless. Eventually from shear exhaustion, I collapsed and gave up. I couldn’t run any more.
At this point, the sky parted, and just a hand came down out of the sky, and picked me up.
I woke up being lifted up in the palm of the hand.
Maybe I was a slow learner to put 2 + 2 together, but it took two more years after that dream before I came alive to God or God came alive to me on February 1, 1975 as I was turning 30.
That Day was as unexpected and as powerful an experience to me personally, as I imagine was the conversion of Saul on the Road To Damascus.
The hand has been there for me time and time again since then.

Ray hi – I came across this article, and after I read it I was at complete stop. I just stopped everything I was working on to submit my first assignments- dead cold I may or may not go back to that study. Maybe in spring – or maybe in of the next year. I will be keeping my day off, however. Roman Catholic Charismatic Church will not serve their jokes, and instead will curse them in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

It is a wonder to see how diametrically opposed some Religious views are, interpreting events and individuals in this Material Flesh World.
All of us think we’re right according to the Spirit of God above the World and us all.
I am mindful of this in the Biblical Record. It requires every individual believer, to constantly self-examine their thoughts, words and deeds considering the Universality of Christ thinking we walk in his footprints, lest at the End of it all, we be found in this group of Believers the Christ warns about,
Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in YOUR name? and in YOUR name have cast out devils? and in YOUR name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.
This applies to Jews, Christians and Muslims.

When I read in the paper when newspapers had more news than advertisements about the upcoming debate at the Oxford Union, it didn’t say who was for or against.
I knew the most preeminent Christian Leader in the US at the Time would be for Nuclear Weapons, the A-bom-i-Nations that make Desolation.
Jerry Falwell was a Fraud. He didn’t debate the Prime Minister. It was one of his students at Liberty University.
