This is the Jeffery Sachs whose “shock therapy” in Russia, impoverished huge numbers of ordinary Russians, enabled the transfer of most of state assets into the hands of members of the greedy nomenclatura and murdered any possibility of a democratic or somewhat democratic transition.

You are correct, but that was long ago, and recently Jeffrey Sachs has been a severe critic of
predatory capitalism and the imperial geopolitics that is its natural sibling. I agree that a different
Russia might have emerged if the ‘shock therapy’ approach had not been adopted by Washington,
and this should be investigated, but without demonizing Sachs who performed as a tool, perhaps a
willing one, for the interests that prevailed in Washington. Thanks for writing, Richard F.

    Dear Professor Falk,

Iran has been lately very steeply discounting the Iranian oil resources, and that could mean grave mismanagement of the Iran’s and as well as Global Oil resources. Not only that Iran has had been subjected to the unjust sanctions and threats by US and its NATO alliances – but they have also been hindered by them from local development and human security / the development of the Global Economy – which has lost in trillions of dollars annually due to the unjust sanctions. Global Oil also means Global Food Resources – for everyone.

There has to be just benchmarks when comes to the prices of the Iranian Oil resources for the Global Market, as well as development of the Global food resources within Iran. They should get the partial discounts (only) for the Iranian Oil, and partial can be paid by the development of the food resources for Iran and the Global Need’s within Iran.

Everyone needs Oil, and Everyone needs food.

In this point in time within human history – none of the resources shall be wasted, or mismanaged. They all need to start “creating resources out of nothing” due to the possibility of the unexpected and swift Global Temperatures.

I just had some brainstorming on this issue.

They need to balance out the benchmarks on Oil, Global needs and long-term human security.

    Thank you,

    K,F.
